With Elefantia's "My guided story as a book" offer, you can get help writing your biography from our Elefantia team, a writer at your service!
We offer to guide you through the entire biography writing process, from start to finish, with personalized and friendly interview sessions at your home, anywhere in France. At the end of this process, we will provide you with four beautifully printed book editions of your manuscript.
You will receive 4 to 20 hours of support (divided into 2-hour sessions), in your home, anywhere in France. We send an "Elefanto" to your home, a young man or woman, trained by us, who is curious about your story, kind, and empathetic. Using our Elefantia technology, they will trace the thread of your life with you, asking you 200 to 500 personalized questions.
All you have to do is share your memories , and our Elefanto will take care of everything else: recording your testimony, transcribing it, and instantly transforming it into a biography chapter using Elefantia technology, and finally presenting you with your written text. If you wish, you can, of course, revise the manuscript.
When you're finished, you choose a beautiful cover photo, and we send the book to the printer. Three weeks later, you'll receive four printed and bound copies of your biography at home, ready to give as a timeless gift to your family! Une application, des bénévoles et des souvenirs : Agde lance une expérience inédite
Ce mercredi 21 octobre, la Ville d'Agde devient le premier territoire pilote de "L’Autre Grande Transmission", un projet porté par la plateforme Elefantia en partenariat avec l’Heure civique. Le principe ? permettre aux Agathois de 80 ans et plus de raconter leur parcours gratuitement, avec l’aide de bénévoles qui recueilleront leurs souvenirs pour en faire des récits à conserver et à transmettre à leurs proches.
Une vie entière tient parfois dans quelques photos, des anecdotes racontées au détour d’un repas ou des souvenirs que l’on évoque en famille. Mais lorsque les années passent, certaines histoires finissent aussi par disparaître, faute d’avoir été racontées ou conservées. C’est justement ce que souhaite éviter "L’Autre Grande Transmission", une initiative qui entend faire de la mémoire des aînés un véritable lien entre les générations.
"On pense que le lien intergénérationnel est hyper important, comprendre d’où on vient pour savoir où on va", explique Guillaume Besson, cofondateur d’Elefantia. À Agde, les personnes âgées de 80 ans et plus pourront bénéficier gratuitement de l’application et de cet accompagnement. La mairie offrira également une version imprimée du livre aux Agathois centenaires.
Des bénévoles pour faire parler les souvenirs
À Agde, le dispositif reposera sur les bénévoles de l’Heure civique. Leur mission sera d’aller à la rencontre des personnes âgées pour recueillir leurs souvenirs, leurs expériences et les moments qui ont marqué leur vie. Le parcours est prévu à raison d’environ deux heures par semaine pendant six semaines, afin de laisser aux aînés le temps de raconter leur histoire sans se presser. Les bénévoles pourront ensuite les aider à mettre leurs récits en forme grâce à l’application Elefantia. Une heure de témoignage représente environ dix pages au format A5, selon la plateforme. De quoi constituer progressivement un véritable ouvrage personnel, avec les souvenirs, les anecdotes et les événements que chacun souhaite transmettre.

A Saint-Malo, ce ne sont plus seulement les glaces qui figent le temps. Le glacier malouin Gérard Sanchez, 75 ans, a choisi l’intelligence artificielle pour écrire le livre de sa vie. Avec Elefantia, ses souvenirs de créateur deviennent un livre destiné à ses enfants et petits-enfants.
En 60 ans de carrière, l’artisan a inventé une centaine de goûts, du caramel à l’estragon, puis il ouvre en 1992 la première boutique de glace artisanale de Saint-Malo. "Autour de moi, beaucoup pensaient que j'étais devenu fou", se souvient Gérard Sanchez. "Des glaces à Saint-Malo, là où il pleut et où il fait froid", lit-il encore aujourd’hui dans ses notes.

Derrière la vitrine, Gérard Sanchez sait que son métier disparaît à la vitesse où fond une glace. "C'est un métier très éphémère, on ne laisse rien", constate-t-il. "Ça prend cinq minutes pour la manger et ça y est, il n'y a plus rien." Pour lui, ce livre doit empêcher ces instants de s’effacer.
Pour l’aider à tout raconter, un Elefanto, Charlie, vient chez lui à Saint-Malo. Elefantia, l'application qui transforme les souvenirs en livre
Combien d’histoires meurent-elles avec ceux qui les ont vécues ? Souvenirs d’enfance, rencontres amoureuses, maisons de famille, parcours professionnels qui s’effacent peu à peu de la mémoire familiale, faute d’avoir été consignés. C’est ce constat qui a conduit Guillaume Besson à lancer, fin 2024, Elefantia, une application qui transforme les souvenirs en livres, grâce à une intelligence artificielle qui aide à structurer le récit. « J’ai toujours été très intéressé par ce qu’avaient vécu mes parents et mes grands-parents. Je leur ai posé beaucoup de questions, mais sans jamais prendre le temps d’enregistrer ou d’écrire leurs réponses. Puis, en échangeant autour de moi, je me suis rendu compte que beaucoup de personnes regrettaient, elles aussi, de ne pas avoir mieux préservé les souvenirs de leurs proches », raconte le jeune entrepreneur.
Le principe est simple : l’utilisateur choisit de raconter oralement sa vie entière ou un épisode particulier, naissance, voyage, carrière, deuil… L’intelligence artificielle le guide à travers une série de questions, d’abord générales puis de plus en plus personnalisées, au fil de ses réponses. Le récit est ensuite retranscrit, débarrassé des hésitations et des redondances, puis mis en forme selon le style souhaité : fidèle à la parole du conteur, plus structuré ou légèrement romancé. Il peut être illustré de photographies avant d’être imprimé sous la forme d’un livre broché.

« Permettre à chacun de raconter, de transmettre son histoire, en mettant en relation des personnes dotées d’une « jolie plume » avec des personnes qui veulent témoigner, c’est ainsi qu’est née l’idée d’Elefantia », explique Guillaume Besson, Malouin d’adoption. Convaincu que « tout le monde a une histoire à raconter », le jeune entrepreneur avait, dans un premier temps, imaginer recruter des biographes pour aller recueillir les récits, les témoignages. Mais très vite, le budget d’une telle prestation (4 000 € en moyenne) rendait hors de portée le récit d’une vie pour beaucoup trop de personnes.

Plusieurs start-ups se lancent sur le marché de la biographie et du récit de vie générés par l’intelligence générative, suscitant des craintes légitimes dans le petit monde des écrivains publics.
Lancée il y a un peu plus d’un an, l’application Elefantia est déjà utilisée par 8.000 utilisateurs et a déjà permis l’impression d’environ 500 biographies. Cela peut être en cadeau que l’on offre pour un anniversaire ou un départ à la retraite. Mais bien souvent, l’initiative vient de la personne qui souhaite se confier. « On a bien sûr des seniors et on travaille d’ailleurs avec les Ehpad, confie Thierry Moncorger. Mais on a aussi une clientèle plus jeune, plutôt des femmes de 35 à 50 ans qui veulent raconter les épreuves de la vie qu’elles ont vécues comme des deuils, des divorces ou des parcours de gestation pour autrui. On est plus là dans le domaine de l’écriture cathartique. »
Au final, le client repart avec son livre imprimé pour moins d’une centaine d’euros et un peu plus suivant selon le tirage. En option, Elefantia propose l’aide d’un étudiant en lettres qui aidera les aînés à maîtriser l’outil IA. « La présence d’un accompagnant permis aussi de libérer la parole », indique le cofondateur de la start-up qui a vu le jour à Saint-Malo.

The email code arrives within minutes of your order. The gift set is shipped within 2 to 4 business days.
The printed book, however, arrives at the end of the project. It cannot be produced before your story is written, as it is your text and photos that make it up. Once you validate your manuscript and request printing, allow approximately 2 to 3 weeks for it to be delivered to your home.
The writing time depends entirely on you. Some finish in a weekend, others take several months. You have 6 or 12 months depending on the chosen plan.
Can I give the code to someone else?
Yes, that's even the most common use. You buy, you receive the code, and the person you're giving it to activates it on their own account. They narrate, reread their text, and validate their book.
There are two ways to give it: with the email, which you'll receive immediately if you want to give it right away or remotely, or in a gift box, with an accompanying booklet, if you want something to give in person.
What happens at the end of my access?
At the end of your access period, you will retain read-only access to your space and can download your PDF and order prints of your book. Interviews and editing will no longer be accessible.
Your text belongs to you. Download your PDF to keep it safe in any circumstances.
Can I order more books?
Yes, absolutely. Each additional copy costs 35 euros, with a sliding scale for large quantity orders. For example, 4 for 100 euros and 10 for 230 euros. A great way to offer memories to the whole family! The purchase of additional books is available in the Elefantia app.
Can we add photos to the book?
You can add color photos at the beginning of each chapter of your book.
And of course, most importantly, a cover photo.
How long does a life story project take?
Our users typically complete their biography in 1 to 6 months . You have full access for 6 to 12 months, depending on your chosen plan, allowing you to take your time to finalize your project.
Can I write someone else's biography?
Absolutely, Elefantia allows you to write your own story or tell someone else's: a relative or a friend . You can recount the story of a loved one or someone you admire. Write a life story or tell a story that's important to you.
What if I want to write something other than a chronological biography?
Elefantia is suitable for many storytelling projects:
- The biography course includes a preparatory interview structured around 10 questions to guide your life story.
- The free path to give free rein to your desires: write about a trip, a significant experience, a story, or any other subject that is close to your heart.
How does the preparatory interview work?
The preparatory interview is a stage where we ask you a series of questions about your life to determine the synopsis of your biography. These questions are designed to explore different aspects of your life, such as your childhood, professional experiences, passions, and values. They allow us to prepare the chapters and personalized interviews tailored to your story .
How do personalized interviews work?
During this phase, you will answer specific, personalized questions . These questions will be grouped into interviews on specific themes , which will then be used to create the chapters of your book . You can choose to answer in writing or via audio recording , whichever you prefer.
How is artificial intelligence used?
Elefantia uses your answers to generate:
- personalized questions tailored to your background.
- convert your audio recordings into text
- generate your chapter into a structured text written in formal and coherent French.
Each step is designed to ensure your story comes to life smoothly.
You can then modify these chapters to ensure they perfectly reflect your vision and story . You have the option to review and edit the text at any time.
How do I create my book?
Once your chapters are finalized , you prepare the publishing elements of your book by writing, if necessary, a dedication , an acknowledgments page, and the back cover blurb . You must also add an illustration for the front cover . Once these steps are completed, you check the electronic version (PDF ebook) of your book, and finally, all that remains is to order the printed copies of your book.
You will receive them at home within 1 to 3 weeks.
Who owns the final text?
Elefantia is firmly committed to respecting and protecting the copyrights of its users. The copyright for books created through the Elefantia platform belongs 100% to the user who provided and designed the content.
Elefantia acts solely as a technical tool facilitating the creation and structuring of life stories. Under no circumstances does Elefantia claim any intellectual property rights over the content produced by its users.
How do you process personal data?
We strictly comply with the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation):
- Your data belongs to you : you can access it or request its destruction at any time.
- We do not sell your data or give it away for marketing purposes.
- Only the founders can access the data for potential investigations and the resolution of technical problems.
Can I sell my book?
By default, no. Printed books do not have an ISBN number and therefore cannot be legally sold in bookstores.
If you have a project requiring an ISBN number, contact us: we can offer you printing with an ISBN code or even a publishing offer for your book on Amazon.
It is important to note that we are not a publishing house, but a service designed to preserve and transmit your personal stories.
